In most ways, the DocuMate 262 is a faster version of the DocuMate 252, at essentially the same size and weight, and sharing most of the same features and software. The DocuMate 262 is specifically aimed at desktop users, comes with a collection of high-end programs for OCR and document management, and is rated at a substantial 33 sheets of paper per minute, or 66 ipm in duplex mode. But then, the DR-3080CII costs more than twice as much. That honor goes to the Canon DR-3080CII, rated at 43 sheets of paper per minute, or up to 86 images per minute (ipm) in duplex mode. The Xerox DocuMate 262 ($1,195 direct) isn't the fastest document scanner we've tested.
